How Buying & Selling Works

Here is how buying and selling works on this website

  • All rings are owned by private individuals. These are collectors, athletes, relatives of athletes, etc.
  • All rings for sale are authenticated by our team of experts.
  • The privacy of Buyers and Sellers are always protected. Your name and private details will never be made public nor shared with any other third party.
  • Employees at ChampRings.net will help facilitate the negotiations of terms of sale but the Buyer and Seller will always remain anonymous to each other.

How to post a ring for sale

  • Sellers can contact us and tell us what they want to sell.
  • Our team of experts will authenticate the ring and discuss a fair selling price.
  • We will discuss various marketing options and realistic timelines.
  • Based on the above, we will determine the “brokerage fee” to be paid to ChampRings.net upon the successful sale of the ring (10-20%).

Note: We do not accept every ring presented to us for sale and we reserve the right to reject any ring we feel is not a good fit for our Marketplace.

How to bid on a ring

  • Explore the rings available for sale on our website under Marketplace.
  • Note: Many rings do not show the name of the player on the ring. This protects the identity of the Seller. In rare cases, it is a condition of the sale.
  • For serious Buyers, this information will be made available.
  • If you are interested in purchasing a ring, contact us. ChampRings.net will help negotiate the price and terms of sale between the Buyer and Seller.
  • We “qualify” all Buyers to ensure they are serious, especially for high-value rings.

How to pay and receive the ring

As part of negotiating the terms of sale, the payment method and shipping/receiving of the rings will be determined. Here are the different options:

Method #1: For rings sold under $10,000

  • Special high-security shipping fees ($100-$300 depending on value and destination) are added.
  • The Buyer pays the full price of the ring plus shipping fees to ChampRings.net via credit/debit card or bank transfer.
  • The Buyer has 10 days upon receiving the ring to decide whether to keep it.

If the Buyer decides not to keep the ring:

  • The Buyer will be given a return shipping label.
  • The ring must be returned in original packaging and undamaged (repairs deducted if needed).
  • Refund issued minus shipping/repair fees.

If the Buyer decides to keep the ring:

  • The sale becomes final (no returns after this point).
  • ChampRings.net pays the Seller minus the agreed brokerage fee.

Method #2: For rings sold over $50,000

  • ChampRings.net identifies a law firm near the Buyer to facilitate the purchase.
  • The Buyer pays the law firm “in trust” (ring cost + lawyer fees + shipping).
  • The ring is shipped to the law firm for inspection.
  • The Buyer examines the ring in person at the law firm.

If the Buyer rejects the ring: funds are returned minus lawyer/shipping fees.

If the Buyer accepts the ring:

  • The sale is final and the ring cannot be returned.
  • The law firm pays ChampRings.net, who then pays the Seller minus brokerage fees.

For rings sold between $10,000 and $50,000: the Buyer and Seller must agree on which method to use.
